Why are you starting a blog?

Like I said before, I doomscroll… a lot, and while that’s not the main reason I started a blog, it’s one of them. When I started my job back in 2021, I had a lot of energy and passion for all things geeky and creative; video games, drawing, creating my own stories and characters, dabbling in photography. As the years went on, and I had to make art on short deadlines, had more restrictions as to what I could be creative with, and less time to dedicate to those passions because of the 9-5 grind; I began to lose interest in creative endeavors for personal enjoyment. Because of that, I started using reels and shorts as a way to decompress after work, and the things I used to do when I wanted to decompress felt like a chore and needed too much thought to actually do.

So, what’s the blog about?

I want to get back into my hobbies, which sounds like it should be super easy to do, but I have to get myself out of the mindset that anything that isn’t doomscrolling takes more effort to do. So, I wanted to start a blog to journal my progress. I figure there might be people who are going through something similar, and wanted to share my experience, and at the same time, I’d be keeping myself accountable. I’m going to stick to at least one hobby a month. Anytime I feel like I want to decompress with social media, I’ll turn toward a hobby instead. I am also going to start trying out new hobbies, or hobbies I haven’t done in an even longer time, and write down my personal pros and cons for that hobby, so to speak.

When will you post your progress?

I will be posting once a week, every Thursday! I’ll make sure to post on Instagram and Pinterest when I make a post as well, so anyone who’s following me there will still get the news.
